Objectives and topics

The low-resource language problem is one of the essential problems of natural language processing. This branch includes speech recognition and language processing. A small amount of linguistic resources in some languages is an obstacle to applying existing techniques for solving speech and language problems and requires adaptation and revision of them or the creation of new linguistic resources. The LRLSTP 2026 Special Session at the 18th Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ACIIDS 2026) discusses solutions to speech and language processing problems for low-resource languages. We want to offer an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to identify new promising research directions and publish recent advances in this area.

The scope of this special session includes, but is not limited to the following topics:

  • Speech recognition
  • Speech-to-speech translation
  • Morphological models and analysis
  • Deep learning in speech recognition
  • Syntactic analysis, semantic analysis
  • Sentiment Analysis
  • Summarization
  • Word Sense Disambiguation
  • Corpus Studies
  • Named Entity Recognition
  • Automatic Text Labeling
  • Machine Translation
  • Text Processing Applications
  • LLM in low resource languages processing
