Objectives and topics

Digital transition and transformation have been reshaping industries since the early 1980s, marking a significant evolution in how businesses operate. Over the decades, a multitude of digital technologies has been adopted to boost performance, streamline operations, and enhance overall effectiveness across various sectors. These advancements have not only improved efficiency but have also cultivated competitive advantages, allowing businesses to thrive in increasingly crowded markets.
Beginning in the 1990s, we began to see profound shifts in consumer behavior, primarily driven by the rise of the Internet. The advent of mobile technologies and the proliferation of social networks in the 2000s further accelerated these changes, influencing how consumers interact with brands and make purchasing decisions. They are paying increasing attention to ensuring that products are environmentally friendly and that their production and logistics are sustainable. As a result, businesses have had to adapt to a new landscape where consumer preferences are constantly evolving.
This digital shift has compelled companies to significantly ramp up their investments in digital technologies. To stay relevant and competitive, organizations are now focusing on developing innovative business models that cater to the changing needs and expectations of their customers. By leveraging data analytics, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge technologies, businesses can better understand their consumer base and create personalized experiences that foster loyalty and drive growth. Ultimately, the ongoing digital transformation not only enhances operational capabilities but also creates new opportunities for market expansion, customer engagement, and creating sustainable supply chains.

The special session will focus (but not be limited to) on the following topics:
  • Sustainable consumer behaviour
  • Consumption reduction
  • IT solutions for sustainable consumption
  • Sustainable business models
  • Green logistics and supply chains
  • Sustainable supply chanel
  • IT solutions for sustainable production
