City & Islands

Phuket

Phuket, a rainforested, mountainous island in the Andaman Sea, has some of Thailand’s most popular beaches, mainly situated along the clear waters of the western shore. The island is home to many high-end seaside resorts, spas and restaurants. Phuket City, the capital, has old shop houses and busy markets. Patong, the main resort town, has many nightclubs, bars and discos.

Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi Islands belong to the most beautiful islands of Thailand. They are situated 40km south east of Phuket and consist of six exotic islands of fine white sand and turquoise waters. They became famous for their natural beauty when Maya Bay, one of its most beautiful bays, starred in the movie The Beach.

James Bond Island

This famous landmark, called Koh Ta-pu ('Nail Island'), first found its way onto the international map through its starring role in the James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). The entire area surrounding this island with its signature rocky pinnacle is spectacular.

Similan Islands

The Similan islands are just 84 km northwest of bustling Phuket. Koh Similan is one of the best-known island groups in the Andaman Sea, largely because of the wonders that await beneath the clear-blue waters surrounding it. A myriad of marine life inhabits the waters of the Similans including rare and endangered species.

Wat Chalong temple

Wat Chalong is a historical landmark and Buddhist temple in Phuket's Chalong Bay. For centuries, locals come to pray almost every day while westerners learn about Buddhism during their holiday. The temple is located on Chao Fa West Road in the northern part of Tambol Chalong. Many locals claim that the temple often experiences many miracles.

Phuket Big Buddha

Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach.
